TESTING CAPABILITIES

EMS Large Engine Cell.JPG

DILUTE EMISSIONS (FULL FLOW)

Configured per 40 CFR 1065, this full flow constant volume sampling (CVS) system uses portable dilution tunnels to facilitate measurements for all test cells. These dilution tunnels are sized for engines up to 750 horsepower (550 kW).

DILUTE EMISSIONS (PARTIAL DILUTION)

The EMS-designed and built partial dilution sampler can be adapted for use in engines from 300 kW to 2 MW (400 hp to 2680 hp) output.

RAW EMISSIONS

Raw emissions measurements are available at all test cells. Our system is able to handle uncatalyzed engines as well as ultra low emissions engines.

LOW EMISSIONS CERTIFICATION

Certification of engines per 40 CFR 1065 is possible at EMS using our bag cart, which is equipped with low range analyzers.

PARTICULATE MATTER (PM) / PARTICLE NUMBER (PN) MEASUREMENTS

Our PM measurements system meets 40 CFR 1065 guidelines. PN measurements are taken using Euro 6 / Stage V compliant CPC particle counter and sample conditioner.

SPECIALIZED EMISSION EQUIPMENT

The EMS test lab also comes equipped with a Hewlett-Packard HP 5890A Series II Gas Chromatograph (for non-methane hydrocarbon emissions), a MTI MicroGC Gas Chromatograph (for monitoring natural gas fuel composition), and a MKS Multigas 2030 High Speed FTIR analyzer (for measuring non-regulated species such as N2O, methane, NH3, and aldehydes).
